Meet Bear, an 8-year-old English Bulldog currently being fostered in Medford, MA, just outside Boston. Bear came to SNORT Rescue due to a divorce, and now he’s looking for a loving family to spend his golden years with. Weighing in at 60 lbs, Bear is neutered, housebroken, and loves being around people and other dogs. While he’s not crate trained, he’s well-behaved and knows the command “No.”
Bear’s personality is as sweet as can be. He’s a laid-back couch potato who’s just as happy to relax at home as he is to take a nice walk. Though he doesn’t need someone home all day, he does best when he isn’t left alone for long periods. Having another dog companion in the home would make Bear even happier. He’s friendly with kids of all ages, and although we’re not sure how he feels about cats, he gets along wonderfully with all dogs, regardless of size.
This lovable guy has mild arthritis, which is easily managed with joint supplements. In fact, Bear’s vet says he’s the healthiest older bulldog she’s ever met! His favorite activities include playing with squeaky rubber toys and barking (quite loudly) when they roll under furniture. While Bear would fit in well in a city, suburban, or rural setting, an apartment might not be ideal due to his booming bark. He’d also enjoy tagging along to work with his new owner if the opportunity arises.
Bear deserves a family that will cherish his sweet, affectionate nature. He’s the kind of dog who thrives in a home where people are around often, with plenty of love and maybe another dog to keep him company. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this wonderful boy, Bear is waiting to meet you!
