Miss Carly the cuddly and mellow English Bulldog is now available for adoption. She came to SNORT through no fault of her own. She had an elderly owner that was in and out of the hospital and eventually Carly found herself in a shelter when her owner became very, very ill. Carly is 6.5 years old, weighs 40.2lbs, is spayed and housebroken.
Carly’s foster mom is recommending a home without children under 5. Carly has not been tested around small kids. Carly is fine with her foster mom’s cat and other dogs. At times she will give warning signs towards the foster mom’s male Frenchie if he gets to close. She previously lived and got along well with another female English Bulldog. Carly needs English Bulldog savvy owners as she has the typical stubborn personality that will need constant reminder who is the boss.
Carly is a loveable, beautiful and laid-back girl. She loves being a couch potato/ loafer but does well with a daily walk. She loves to cuddle and be with her people. She is a through and through English Bulldog that loves to cuddle up and give affection. We believe her eyesight isn’t the best and she will sometimes growl when there is a person across the room. She is easily comforted by your voice letting her know it is you, that everything is ok and by giving her a nice reassuring scratch.
Carly is crate trained and is just like any other bulldog in that she lovessss her treats! She will sit for a treat and when you say “crate” she knows to go into her crate where of course she gets a treat! There are no ongoing health issues with her, and she is not on any medication. Her favorite things to do are lay on the big pillows of the loveseat and be extremely affectionate and cuddly with her people. Carly is such a sweet, sweet girl.
Carly’s ideal living situation is wide ranging from a single person to an older couple. She is fine with cats, birds, and other dogs. We would like the new owner to be experienced with dogs, not necessarily short-nose dogs but having experience with any short-nosed breed would be a plus! Carly would thrive if her new owner was a quiet homebody. She likes routine and just being apart of the family! A quiet home with a fenced backyard would be best but is not a requirement.
Carly is independent enough to be left at home while her owner is at work but should be let out in the middle of an 8-hour workday either by the owner or a dog sitter. Her ideal living situation would be in the suburbs or rural areas in a single-family home. If Carly’s new owner were to take her to work with them, we think she will do just fine.
Carly is a very pretty lady that loves to roughhouse. How could anyone not love that! She is a truly happy pup that is calm and has a beautiful big smile! You will become a very lucky dog parent with this little girl by your side!
