Don’t let the regal name of Maximus Rex fool you – this adorable boy is all puppy, and we mean that in all the positive ways!
He is goofy and energetic and playful and all the things you’d wish for in a Frenchie puppy. Oh, and SMART! This boy is a borderline Mensa! At only eight months old, Maximus Rex is housetrained, crate trained, knows “sit,” and “shake,” and “down.” That’s right, we have an Einstein on our hands!
But Maximus Rex still loves to show his puppy side. He loves to play and explore the outdoors by taking in the scenery during his daily walks. His favorite toys are chew toys – yak bones, Benebones, you name it, if it’s able to be chewed, he wants it! He even loves wrestling with his doggie foster sibling. Maximus Rex definitely needs a family committed to keeping him engaged with enrichment activities and plenty of walks.
He also does well with the human children in his home; he shows zero signs of aggression during playtime or mealtime. He does like to give chase to cats so a cat-free home might be the best fit for him, though. And as previously stated, Maximus Rex does well with the other dog in his home but due to being surrendered at such a young age, he has some work to do on socialization with other dogs. He’s not aggressive; quite the opposite in fact. He gets a bit scared and timid around other dogs, especially dogs who are larger than him, so he’ll need his family to help boost his confidence around other dogs with continued work on socialization.
Maximus Rex arrived at SNORT at five months old with a broken elbow. Thanks to quick medical attention, his leg was saved from having to be amputated. He now has a pin in his elbow that may require surgery down the road to remove it if the pin ever becomes dislodged or infected, but at this point, the pin is good to stay right where it is! He has no limitations and no other medical concerns.
Because he is still a puppy, Maximus Rex needs to go to a home where someone is home the majority of the day or – even better! – is able to go to work with his human(s)!
We tried really hard to find a little quirk about Maximus Rex because all the other foster dogs were sick of hearing about how great he is, but we just can’t find a flaw, so get your application in stat!
