Peanut

Peanut
This handsome fella clearly has genius written all over him. At just 5 months old, and just under 15 pounds, Peanut the Pug is housetrained and crate trained. He’s eager to learn and will likely be graduating with top honors at any obedience class — or at least among other pugs. Peanut lives in New Haven, CT with his foster family and is ready to find his forever home.
Typical puppy, Peanut loves to play. He enjoys stuffed toys, bones and especially your shoes. He is so smart that he knows the difference between the left and right shoe and will choose the left. If it’s on the floor, it’s a toy for Peanut. Pack away your Jimmy Choo’s for a couple years if you decide to apply for this boy.  Sometimes intelligence equals mischief. In addition to shoes, Peanut is a known cat kibble thief. He enjoys the company of the female cat in his foster home more than she enjoys his attention cast in her direction.  Maybe it’s because he’s stealing her food. If the cat doesn’t want to play, Peanut is eager to find any sized human or dog to play with. Initially shy with large breed dogs, he will eventually get the courage to engage them. Although his temperament is great with children, Peanut is a known thief and is not ideally suited to live with wee little people under 5 years old who have toys within his inquisitive reach. Peanut is likely to teach older children to pick up their room in a jiffy – just one of his many hidden talents.
Peanut was surrendered from his breeder along with 3 of his brothers. He was treated for fleas and intestinal issues when he entered S.N.O.R.T. and was feeling in tip top shape in no time. Peanut has a clean bill of health.
To sum it up, Peanut is nearly perfect. He’s smart, loves all people and animals and is eager to learn commands and bond with his people. He already knows his name and comes when called. In addition to all of that, he’s super handsome and asks only for ample attention and kindness from his people. He loves to give kisses to his favorite people. We think he would adjust quickly to any environment – city, rural, apartment or house.  He knows he’s important and wants to rest on a comfy couch or with his human. If you allow him to sleep in the person bed, you are likely to see him smile as he falls asleep. Please do not ask him to stay off the furniture.
An ideal home for Peanut would be matched with a person who works from home, or someone who can take him to work with them. Additionally, this boy needs a person who can meet his energy level. Walking, playing, attending obedience classes, or going to the dog park all sound like amazingly fun ways to spend a day for this active youngster.  He does not require a fenced yard as long as there are ways to safely allow for outdoor stimulation. This boy enjoys sunbathing on nice days. Another young or active canine sibling in his adoptive home would be a bonus.
If Peanut sounds like your kind of guy, don’t delay — apply for this genius today!
