If you google “sweet little old lady” in the dog dictionary, a picture of Sophie the French Bulldog will likely appear. Sophie is located near Baltimore, MD and is officially available for adoption!

This senior charmer gets along well with EVERYONE and simply wants to become a beloved family member. As a champion lap warmer, you will never have a chilly winter evening with Sophie around. Her dream job involves sitting on your lap whilst the two of you watch reruns of The Golden Girls. Rose is her favorite, although Sophie has the sophisticated good looks and complexion most resembling Blanche Devereaux.

As a true lady, Sophie is house-trained and crate trained. She loves to spend time on the couch, gossiping with the resident dogs in foster care if your lap is momentarily unavailable. She’s never met a human or dog she didn’t like and much like her idol, Rose, she’s gentle and accepting of everyone who crosses her path.

Although untested with cats in foster care, her former owner indicated she got along well with them.

Sophie‘s foster parent describes her as a sweet, mellow laid-back senior – who loves to give kisses. This silly senior even has a few tricks up her sleeve. She knows how to play dead and speak when asked to!

Since she was a youngster, Sophie has dealt with skin issues and will need a diligent pet parent to monitor her skin in order to keep her comfortable.  All ladies know that beauty requires some upkeep.  She also has recurring bladder infections which will need treated when they arise. She is not currently on any medication and has been vetted while in foster care.

This polite gal does not need constant supervision and is nondestructive in the home when you step out, or if you have to go to work. She is content to hang out, comfy at home and would prefer the company of at least one other canine. A city or rural setting is ok, as she is not a picky pup as long as she gets regular potty breaks.

If you enjoy binging The Golden Girls while petting a lap dog, Sophie may be your perfect match! Valentine’s day is her favorite holiday because Sophie believes in true love at any age and is currently accepting proposals (umm, applications) for blind dates!
